Gave in to my 12 yr old son whose says his Worth Prodogy and Yellow Senior Catalyst X1 lost their pop and bought him a 31/23 Anderson KXR. Only did so because Anderson offer a 30 days free trial if for any reason you would want to return it. Anderson would credit the store and it's up to the store you purchased it from whether they will give you the refund back or store credit. I would not have to worry about that because son fell extremely in love with the bat. Ball just explodes off the bat with one of the loudest crack, not ping. Anderson Rep says balance bat (even though it doesn't look like it in the picture) and the difference in the -10 and -8 is the extra weight in the middle and handle of the bat. Forgot to ask if it was single wall or double wall. Same sweet spot on his previous bats, but the taper to the handle is quicker than the other bats he had before. If the KXR performs well through it's life, I will definitely considered the Nanotek for his next bat. Composite alloy, what a concept. BTW. Son always prefer stiff handle and this bat passed his test.

My 12 year old son used the 32 inch 23 oz Techzilla last season and loved it. He is still 12 but is league age 13 and we were looking for a big barrell bat for him and couldn't decide on the KXR, Combat B2 or the Nanotek -5.
We purchased the Combat B2 32 -10 because there is so little feedback on the KXR. My son didn't like the B2. He said it felt to light but I told him he would have to deal with it because we couldn't afford another bat. His team loves the B2 and 3 of his team mates purchased the B2. We actually found the Nanotek 32 -5 on Ebay and purchased for $100. It was barely used. He loves the Nanotek and is doing really really well with it. He is a pretty big kid 5'8 130lbs. His Techzilla was really beat up but the Nanotek seems to be much more sturdy. I still have not seen or heard anything on the KXR!! |

Ok, we got my son the -10 KXR for Xmas...he has been swinging it indoors (we live in NY) during his teams winter workouts. The bat is NOT ALL THAT! I dont see the ball really jumping much at all of this bat....disappointing.
My son is 10u 110lbs 4'10 swinging a 29" -10 ....so now he has been swinging a Easton SV12 (Gold Bat) BB. Its stinks because he LOVED his Techzilla 2 1/4...but its just about dead. |

Sorry to hear Milt. The KXR and the 2010 Techzilla uses the same DFX II alloy. I don't know if the old Techzilla uses the same material. You know, I truely believe it's up to the kid taste. That's why there's these forum to guide our choices for our boys. My 12 yr. old son had a 2009 SV12 and he hated it because he just didn't like soft flex. He prefers the KHR because of the one piece stiffness. Even if you say it didn't have no pop, did your son like the feel of the bat? Hope you can use the Anderson 30 day trial to get your money back.
