I saw a team last summer do an impressive pre game warmup drill. They had two coaches at home plate hitting fungo with a bucket of balls. There was also a bucket at 3rd base and another bucket at 2nd base. They had two or three players at each infield position and two catchers.

Both coaches would pretty much hit ground balls to the infield at the same time and the infielders seemed to know where to throw the ball. They would either throw to first or throw to the plate.

I only got to see this team one time, so I really never had a chance to study just how they were pulling this off. Does anyone have the details on a warmup like this?

Thanks

I've seen a variation of it at the MLB level during warmups before games. Divide the IF in half (left and right), one coach hits only to left side, the other coach (helps if you have a lefty coach) hit to the right side. I would think the player on the right side (playing 2B position for example) throws to 1B so you don't cross, while the player on the left side (playing SS) throws to HP.
