It appears that Miken has come out with a 2008 senior -10 big barrel. I have seen the catalyst and think that the catalyst appears to be pretty hot, any thoughts on the Miken burn?

ok the miken is not a very known bat so if your son is a good hitter already i would just go with the catalist cause yor not getting tricked it is a good bat nothing special though. the burn is one of those things that i would get for my son if he want hitting well and i need a bat that may turn out to be something great. the catalist is just an average bat to me. the miken know one really knows cause noone has bought it but i bet its going to be one of thos bats where its either garbage or amazing

I went ahead and got the Miken Burn. My 8 year old has used it in a couple of games. It is going to turn out to be just as good as the Catalyst, maybe better. It is a composite consturcted bat. It sounds like a Catalyst when a ball is coming off of it. From what I have witnessed it has just as much pop as a Catalysts. The only difference is that the barrel is a 2 5/8 vs 2 3/4 of the Catalyst. Although, all the super bats in the world are a mute point if the techniques of the swing are not being taught correctly.

i was wrong, the miken burn esd is a great bat al tho the technique they use is very difficlut durring bonding so if one little mistake occurs, the whole bat is thrown off. it uses an inner weave which instead of the fibers breaking at contact as in a regular composite bat. it is supposed to bounce back providing more force at contact.this is my second miken, the first one i had was defective and i wanted my money back but they wouldnt give it to me so now i have a second one and it seems to do just fine, i think in the future i might buy the rawlings rush, the stealth comp, or rawlings plasma. honestly i remember back to when i was in little league and i used a 30 dollar aluminum baseball bat. and it did jsut fine. so when you come down to buy time, it is, does my son or i have a good solid swing and will take the game serious or will him or i joke around and not care. if u have passion for the game then a good bat will just help. but if u dont its a waste of money.
