I play short, too. I used Rawlings for years. I am currently using a discontinued Wilson. I am breaking in a Domin glove and just purchased a Glovesmith. With so many choices available pick the style, design, color you want and if the glove feels good, buy it. The glove is an extension of your hand and should be comfortable but manageable.

Also play short when not pitching. Love the Wilson A2K. Have one for infield and another for pitching.

Nokona gloves are made by hand here in the good ole USA. They come in different leathers ( cow, kangaroo, etc...) and are very form fitting. They will mold to your hand and can be used immediately, without break in time. (kangaroo is much more flexible) They hold up well too. My son's lasted 4 years playing 9 months of the year. Finally talked him into getting a new one but we still have the other one in the bag as a spare.

Here we go. My sons carry:
Infield - Wilson A2K (pitching - tan)
Infield - SAF (great glove, $130 and I would put it with the Pro Preferred/A2000's)
First Base - Zett (LOVE Zett), Pro Preferred (taking forever to break in)
Outfield - Rawlings Gold Glove (like the 'cheaper' leather for the outfield), Wilson A3000
Catcher - Wilson A2430

I love the professional Zett gloves. I think they are the best, period. Oiled, anti spin, great break in and they take the abuse. Have I said I love Zett?

Next I would go with the A2000/A2K line. The Rawlings Pro Preferred are equal, I just prefer the A2000. IF I had my druthers, the Rawlings Primo would be my glove but then I would never use it and it would always just sit there and look pretty.

My son talked me into the SAF infielders glove. His has white in it and cannot be used on the mound. I have been VERY impressed with this glove and it is the first one that I considered repping but I talked myself out of it. Good glove.

The last one I would mention is one I have seen and held but I have not caught a ball with it. I do like the construction and the materials. It is the Dead Red Pro X series. They are as stiff as a saddle and you will have to put a lot of care and work into the glove but I could see it being a glove that is passed from father to son to grandson.

I hope it helps. There are a lot of really good gloves and there are some great gloves, enjoy finding one that will create a lot of memories.

Son used Rawlings Heart of the Hide for years, the fingers stalls wore out on 2 of them, so stupid me - I bought a third... Tried the TPX Flare, and it is a GREAT glove, w/ GREAT leather, very impressive. Head Coach's son plays for Texas Rangers, and has a Mizuno Contract... Coach thinks that these gloves are so great, so we get son a Mizuno Classic Pro... He was RIGHT!

-Good Luck.

My oldest kid (also) uses a Mizuno (Pro) - I believe it is the Classic Pro. Good glove.
.
A couple of his friends have the Wilson A2000 - appears to be a good glove.
