Ok...so I ended up getting a Plasma. The first game I used it I rocketed the ball for a double. After coming back to the dug out I come to find out that I put a dent in my bat. I want sure if it was just unlucky or the bat durability just isnt quality..so I sent it back for a refund. Now that Iv learned my leason, Im trying to decide on whether to get a Vexxum or an Aero Torque. Please help me...

------------------------

Sorry, man. Maybe someone from your team hit the bat against the dugout pole... but I don't think you can dent the Plasma with a DOUBLE (!). Actually, I don't think you can dent ANY new bat with a double. We have six or seven serious bangers in our majors team that hit the ball 250 plus, and we've played sixty games since the fall season, the Plasma is the only one that still looks brand new. They've dented a few bats, but not the Plasma

I don't work for Rawlings or for liquidmetal, so don't misunderstand me... maybe you got a factory dud, if your story was truthful.

---------------------------

True...maybe. My whole team used it so maybe that had to do with something. I really liked the bat but I think I wanna try something new. Suggestions?

----------------------------

Don't know anyone who uses the Nike torque so I can't help you there. The Vexxum would suit you if you need batspeed because of its (light) weight. If you don't have any problem turning on the ball, I recommend the Voodoo or the Plasma, if you still want to consider it.

Here's the rule: All else being equal, the research says the best bat is one made of composite material, then alloy aluminum, then aluminum, then wood.

If you can find a 2003 titanium baseball bat before they were made illegal in some parts... then that's the gold mine. Talk is that those bats exist in Canada.

Keep practicing and swinging for the walls.

-------------------------

Are you talkin about getting like a 2003 Titanium Z-Core or 2003 Connexion?

-------------------------

The z-core is made with titanium, but not of titanium. The 2003 variety was the last production baseball bat made with any kind of titanium in it.

About Canada, I heard there were pure titanium bats being used up there that were manufactured before 2003. Hope they weren't referring to fastpitch bats...

---------------------------

so i bought a nike torque bat over the plasma about 2 months ago, and ive used it for about 15 games now and it has been doin awsome for me.. im not much of a power hitter but this year with the new bat ive hit 6 doubles and 2 trippkes with it and no signs of dents...so i would definatley have to pick the torque

-----------------------------

Where do you think liquid metal places on the list of best bat material?

---------------------------

Our team's experience is this: the Plasma beats all the other bats, composite material or not. Our 12U team may be one of the hardest hitting 12U team in our state, and ALL the boys are serious bangers. They practice in the cages with wood (31/28) bats, and play with their metal bats. They borrow bats regularly during tournaments and league play. The team has the following bats: Dynasty, Response, Omaha, Air Omaha, Vexxum, Stealth 2005 and 2006, Plasma, Voodoo, Nike Loco, Connexion. The consensus is this: Plasma, Voodoo, Stealth 2006 in that order. All the homeruns (our CF fence is 250', LF and RF fence is 230') and fence hitting triples have been hit by those three bats.

It's a fact that composite material is a better material than aluminum (studies from Kettering University). And pure titanium bats are sooooo hot they've been illegal since 1993. Rawlings claims that liquidmetal is 20% harder than titanium. They (Rawlings) HAVE to have data to back that up or they'll be sued to the gills.

Our boys think the Plasma is the best bat around.

----------------------------------

Where did you find a 31 / 28 wood bat? At all the places Iv looked at Iv only found 32 / 29 and above?

on the subject of the plasma, i just wanna say they made a composite liquidmetal bat called the fusion, and works very well for any hitter.
