Does anyone have any thoughts on the use of the Anderson Techzilla in cooler temps.?
I've been under the impression (perhaps false) that alloy bats could be used below 65 degs.
Especially in comparison to composites like the Combats which they clearly do not recommend below 60-65....

I wouldnt use any composite bat in colder temperatures. They are all made of resin, glass, graphite, carbon fiber etc. They will get more brittle in cooler temps and more resilient in warmer temperatures. The hotter the better.

According to Anderson, don't use below 60 degrees:

One of the best investments I've made in equipment. Pyroflite bat warmer. We're up here in the NW. Most of our games are played below 60 degrees. The bat stays happily warm. Never had a problem over the life of 4 composite bats (two B1's & 2 Virus - big and small barrel). I know the balls get harder when it's cold, but since using have not had one problem ... plus it keeps the kid's bat from getting beat up in the bag.

I believe the bigger issue is temperature of the ball being used. Despite the bat being warm if your swinging at frozen rocks your going to risk damaging the bat.
