7, nearly 8 yr old using the Worth. We love this bat but recently purchased (waiting for arrival) an Anderson -10. Is there any advice from the members with respect to the use of the Anderson and the performance we can expect relative to the Worth? I have 'introduced' other bats in the past (Combat B2), but without the same results. Any advice form those dads that have developed young hitters?

I purchased an Anderson bat this year for my 8 now 9 year old. His first impression was "Dad this bat is really heavy". I told him, no it is just one ounce heavier then your current bat. Well he just kept saying it was heavy so I took all his bats to work and weighed each one. The Anderson was a full two ounces heavier then it stated on the bat. I used precision laboratory scales for weighing the bats, so I know it was correct. My son was right and now the anderson is just a batting practice bat.

He now uses a Demarini Vendetta 29/17 or his B1 29/19 for games.

What Anderson are you talking about?

The 'zilla is a -9. Our 30" '07 weight in at 24 oz. They have more "pop" than any LL bat I've seen.

not sure what your results were with the B2, but an 8yo is not gonna hit good with it on their own unless they hit a TON with it. the B2's take some breaking in, more than an 8yo can do. B1's are good after they hit 50-100 times with it, a B2 will take about 200-300 before you start getting what you want out of them.

Guys, thanks for the feedback. The purchased bat is the Anderson is the 2010 KXR -10. He is currently swinging a Worth Lithium 29/19, but I ordered the 28/18 Anderson for better bat control as we progress to more kid pitch. Kind of confused now with respect to the weight that I ordered, but it sounds like they are never lighter than stated...I guess I can have it weighed in the wrapper. I think he really feels a more natural swing with the heavier ended bat, so good feedback.

He hit a ball so hard yesterday in Travel off that Worth that thankfully did not it another child but rather our coach pitcher. He's not a HR hitter, consistent line-drives, but I'm cautiously optimistic that the Anderson might provide that extra 'pop' to boost his confidence on our rec field at 150'.

Are you guys saying that the ball actually comes off these Anderson Bats even better than the Worth?

I have always weighed my kids bats. It is not uncommon for almost all the alloy bats to be about 10% heavier (1.5-2 oz.) than stated. My kid's B1's (he has had 4) have always been right on the money as far as weight, but his Virus and all the CF3's I've weighed have been 1.5-2 oz. heavier than listed.

I have weighed all my sons bats with the following results

29" Anderson KHR -10 weighed 20.8
29" Techzilla '08 -9 weighed 22.4
29" Virus -8 weighed 21.6
29" TPX Blue Catylist -10 weighed 22.00

My son's bats:

Worth 29/18 = 17.2
Combat B1 29/19 = 19.2
Anderson Pyrotech 29/18 = 20.1
Demarini Vendetta 29/17 = 17.5
Demarini Hornet 30/18 = 18.3

Case in point, not all advertised weights are accurate. For my son, an advertised one ounce heavier bat ended up 3 ounces heavier then what he was using. This caused his timing to be off a bit.

Can't give any feedback on the KXR, but as I've said, the 'zilla is the best LL, shoot, best bat period, my son has swung. The only issue was durability, but he's cracked a B2 and a Sr league CF3 so....

A kid on our travel team had his '09 replaced with an '10 and his dad seems pretty impressed with it. Will see how the durability issue plays out...

Anderson Tech is a great bat and truly hits the hottest shots when hit on the button I've seen. Problem is the sweet spot when compared to a -10 B1 is maybe 1/3 the size. The consistency of the Combat won out over the slightly hotter (IMO) potential of the 'zilla.

To the topic I have'nt seen the lithium in action.
