Hey, guys just found out my son was selected for a BPA 10 u travel team, for next summer. They can use the BIG barrels, any suggestions. Right now he uses a 30 - 18 B-2 . From what I can tell the big barrels are mostly -10s so I thought about going to a 29" in the big barrel. What are the hot BB bats.

One option: Have kid try some big barrel bats to first get an idea on how they feel/swing.
.
Me ? I would (first) get one or two used big barrel bats and have kid try them. Borrow or purchase the bats. Maybe a 29-20.5 or a 30-21.5 or similar.
.
Note: Although I am not too familiar with big barrel bats at that age (we are affiliated with Williamsport), we have participated in a few 'Bronco rules' tournaments and were able to use big barrel bats.

suggest the ComBat B2 da Bomb SL 2010. It has great pop and is a pretty well-balanced bat. Also, I've seen kids drop bombs with the TPX Triton.

( not doubting the Combat and TPX Triton ) .....
.
but many kids will 'drop bombs' with just about any big barrel .... primarily due to the increased weight .... (when compared to the lighter 2 1/4 bats) ....
.
if the kid can generate good bat speed - same speed as with the lighter 2 1/4 bat - the ball will travel farther when using the heavier big barrel ..... especially if/when facing kids that throw hard .....
.
we had kids hitting towering shots using well-used / hand-me-down big barrel bats .... (-8 drop ) .....

The Worth Prodigy Lithium is the most popular big barrel bat around this area. It is bad about denting but it swings light, has a huge barrel, and kids hit bombs with it.

Although I think Comabt makes great bats and the Triton is making batters look good...I agree with DMAC...that bat was my sons 1st BB and he loved it...no breaking in and it hit very well and aslo makes that wonderful sound when you hit with it...there is a 1 year warranty and my son had to get a replacement because it cracked but the the customer service was fine...it does have denting issues...Do not use it for BP just the games

Ity is a inexpensive good bat...I recommend it...

this is the one my son has...last years model...his teammate is hitting bomds with the new model...

Combat makes the best performing bats in my experience.

I Just purchase both my sons new B1SL2 -Combat DaBombs- 2-5/8" ... I pitch Batting practice to them ... 2 or 3 times a week .. so I have a good feel about how they are doing. and WOW ... 30-50' more distance ! ! Instantly.

We have used Catalyst Composite X1 ( Louisville-Slugger ) for the last year and a half and Love Them... just out of Pop from Alot .. I mean Alot of Use. We have a Tournament this Weekend and hope the Line Shots keep Flying off the DaBomb Barrel like they are in BP.
