ComBat Virus

Has anyone had experience with this bat. My son is almost 11 and he likes the heavier bats and I cam across the Virus for at $150 and I hear all these great things about the B1/B2 but they are more than I'd like to pay.

.........this from my combat friends who exclusively use their bats for softball and baseball for their sons...no difference between them (B1,B2,Virus) once broken in...hitting performance is the same except for durability (opinions vary)

I weigh all my kids bats and some of his friends. My son has had two B1's and two Virus (small barrel and big barrel). Both Virus were almost two oz. heavier than listed weight, while the B1's were spot on. The small barrel virus is also a double wall bat whereas the senior league, big barrel, is a single wall. My son did not like his small barrel virus, didn't seem to have near the pop as his B1's. He likes the Big Barrel, but still not as much as his small barrel B1's. Now I have seen a few monster kids swing the small barrel virus and put a whoopin' on the ball ... so if your son has the size and bat speed it may be a good bat for him. Another thing, I've seen many more Virus break than B1's.

used a 29-19 Virus and loved it. He liked how hard he was able to swing without feeling any sting. The bat has some pretty good pop. He only uses it during games and has plenty of life in it for fall-ball. It does have a shorter barrel than the B1-2. We are looking into the 2010 B2 big barrel for next spring.

Excellent bat but more end weighted than the B1/B2. They are cheap right now and out of production I believe. I just purchased another one and my son uses it for practice to keep the beating to the B2 to a minimal.

A kid on our travel team this year used one....he loved it, and hit great with it. I thought it had alot of pop - seemed to be a good bat overall.
