I have been following the LLWS. Obvious what the bat of choice is, but does anyone have an idea, of the "lengths" & "weights" these kids are using. 28", 30", 17oz, 22oz. ?
These kids are amazing. Although it helps, when you here some have close connections, and some training with some MLB players.

only -8 drop bats i know are the TPX Genesis and easton magnum, cheap walmart bats
I'm pretty sure the lil guys are using the -12 and the big guys a -9 or -10 but considering how off the ounces are on some bats I wouldn't be surprised if some weighed in at -8 drop

Most kids at that level that hit with power are swinging 30-32" bats.
.
The more weight - the farther the ball will go (provided speed of pitch and bat speed remains constant).
.
Have not kept up with LLWS last couple of years, but a few years ago some top teams (Hawaii included) used the DeMarini F2. The F2 is a -10 drop bat (and end/perimiter weighted).

I did see a few kids swinging that new easton speed -9 powerhitter bat. I'm sure easton gave a bunch away and I did see quite a few being used.

The new Easton has a -10 drop.

I think there was a previous post on the variation in weight for different bats/manufacturers.

The 2010 model is a -9. The first I saw it was watching the regionals.

Hi,
Most swing 32 inch -10 to -12, some swing a 31 inch. The boys were given a choice of bats from both Demarini and Easton...on my team (Europe) most of the kids chose the CF4 from Demarini and the Stealth Speed XL from Easton. A lot of our kids, however, love the Mattingly Beast...and some still swung the Beast over the 2 bats given to them by Wilson and Easton. I will say that both the CF4 and the XL had good pop right out of the wrapper. The Beast is a -12, the CF4 is a -11, and the Stealth XLs are -10...

Do you have any insider scoop that the Williamsport LL governing body is looking into banning composites (like what the NCAA did for college)? I'd like to know before buying any composite bats for my son's next season. No - I did not hear of any rumor; just asking in anticipation.
