My son's 32/22 B2 just cracked on a homerun swing. We've taken pretty good care of the bat all season, never used it in cold weather or in cages. One of our other kids had the same problem with his B2.
The crack is about 4" and right in the sweet spot.
I'd be interested in hearing if any others have been having problems with their B2s??
Thanks

not uncommon ... (from what I have been told and read) .....
.
despite this, many swear by them - and will continue to purchase them ...
.
How deep is the crack? If it is just a hairline crack, the bat should be still good for use.

We have a B1 that some team mates are swinging, and it is really getting hot. It has just developed the slightest hairline crack. During bat checks for our first All-star game the ump ruled it out based on this crack. During our next three games I was able to talk to the umpires during bat check, explain the cracking, and the bat was allowed. The kids just keep hitting it better.
If you only have a hairline crack, you maybe suprised at how the bat performs.

Keep swinging till she blows! Bat is hottest right before it breaks, no timeline when it will go, I have a stealth with 2 one inch cracks on it and probably added 200 hits after it cracked.
Still a gamer stick with over 1000 hits on it.
Make sure you tell him to point the "cracked" side towards the pitcher then rotate the bat to the other side so that way the crack is not hit on.

There's no way this bat can be used right now. Not only is the crack 4" long, it's pretty wide. Certainly not a hairline crack.
He had about 6 BP hits on it right after it cracked, and while they were power swings, the ball went nowhere. It sounded like hitting water logged balls. This bat will be warrantied.
While it's too bad it cracked, we do indeed swear by the bat. No complaints whatsoever.
Thanks to all for the feedback.

I can't believe my luck.
Rather than wait for the RMA process to replace the cracked B2, I bought abother new one, same model.
My son used it in 2 games, and it cracked!!! So I've lost 2 B2s in just under a weeks time, and it's all-star time.
To make matter worse, we took out his practically new DeMarini CF4, and the handle decoupled from the barrel.....it slides completely into the barrel!!!! I bought this bat 2 months ago. My son took a few swings, didn't like it. A few others said the same thing, so we put it on the shelf in favor of the B2. When he took it out tday for BP, he kept telling me it didn't feel right. A few minutes later while just holding it in his hands, we noticed the problem.
So $750 in bats damaged in 1 weeks time, right when I need them most.......unreal.

That's why I'm only looking at 1-piece exotic alloys from now on. I can't afford to play Russian Roulette with composites or 2-piece hybrids. Having some material science background, IMHO, thin-wall composites were not meant to take repeated impact from a baseball travelling > 75 mph. :(

We have six B2's on our teams and not have had any issues what so ever. I wouldn't got to any other bat.

It's not just composites, I've seen more than a few aluminum bats dent. It's become apparent to me this year that the "hotter" bats are going to allow kids to hit a ball further than they normally might, but when swung by the stronger, better kids they are going to crack/dent.

If I had a kid that size (swinging a 32" whatever) - I would consider:
.
NOS - or gently used - DeMarini 31-21 F3.
.
NOS - or gently used - 2007 DeMarini Voodoo 31-19.5.
.
.
These bats are reliable - proven track record - and can be sometimes located (on ebay etc.) for $50-100. Just recently, some NOS 2007 31" Voodoos sold for $60 (BIN - or Best Offer). A 31" Voodoo Black - -10 drop - may also be an option. I'm not familiar with this bat - but it appears to be a doublewall and may be very similar ot the old F2 and F3. e

.
The F3 (and F2 before it) great bat - but not for everyone. Heavy to swing - typically heavier than adverstised and end/perimiter weighted. If kid struggles to generate bat speed with it, continue to work with him in the cage (with it) - most times kid will benefit. The Voodoo Black -10 may swing similar to the F2 and F3.
.
.
I would also have a 31" LS TPX Omaha XS Scandium in the bat bag - all all times. And/or maybe a 32" - just have not seen too many LL age kids benefit from/with a 32 over a 31.
