View Full Version : Help moving from Little League bat to Big Barrel...
How much difference is there in swinging a 30/18 little league bat and the same size in a big barrel? I'm guessing that the big barrel has more end weight, but is there anything else I need to think about? He also swings a 29/19 F2 so a drop 10 is probably fine, but again, I am wondering what the other differences are...
Thanks

The difference will depend on the bats (from and to).
.
In your case, there are many similar sized big barrel bats that may swing 'easier' or 'lighter' than the F2. The 29" LL F2 (typically) weighs more than advertised and is end/perimiter weighted - therefore a difference/move to a similar sized big barrel bat may not be too significant.
.
My (oldest) kid also swung a LL ( 2 1/4) 29-19 F2 - and a few times used a 29" (21 oz or whatever) big barrel TPX Omaha XS Scandium (Bronco rules games) - the 29 big barrel bat swung lighter/easier.
.
Good idea to swing a few different brands/types of big barrel bats to get an idea on how they feel/swing. ( If you can find a used 29 or 30 big barrel TPX Omaha XS Scandium in good shape - grab it ).

Use a wood bat in BP and wont have a issue at all...however my son swings a 30/20 in LL and travel...the big barrel makes alot of ok hitters look good....so we swing the wood and it has made all the difference no issues going back and forth
