View Full Version : Louisville Triton???
Yes, was wondering if I could get some input on the New Louisville Triton (blue and yellow model) 2010. My son is 11 and had a Catalyst (Blue and Yellow model), ball flew of this bat. Unfortunately, bat broke and got a Triton. This bat seems to not even be in the same ballpark as the Catalyst he had. Now, is it just me or what. Alittle info on what you guys think of this bat.
THANKS
The Blue Catalyst was a great bat...we broke one and received a Triton as a replacement. The Triton does not even compare. It seems like a thicker-walled bat and ours was a complete dud. If you are going to get a composite bat for your son, go with the Combat B1...and get the -10, if he can swing it, as the longer barrel allows for a much hotter bat with way more trampoline effect than the -12 version.
Ya thats what I was thinking, complete dud! Thanks for your input. I just got my younger son a B1 Big Barrell 28/18 he likes it but does seem a little different then a team-mates 2 1/4" barrel?.?. We'll see how he does over the fall.
THANKS AGAIN

Sounds like you need to give it some break-in time. Not saying you did not get a "dud", but there are too many great reviews on this bat.
There is a 11 year old in our league (I know his father) who has both the tpx triton (sliver 2009) and the tpx triton (blue 2010). He had his bat rolled, to break it in, and noticed a huge difference after having the bat rolled.
I know there are many opinions on bat rolling, but I just wanted to pass the information along.
Good luck.

You definitely need to give it some time for break-in. (At least 300 if not more good hits). Started using a Triton late in the season last year. Was not nearly as hot then as this spring. We also now have a new Combat B1 SL. It was hotter out of the wrapper than the Triton, but the Triton is now our bat of choice. It probably has 750-1,000 good hits and it is getting hotter every game.
