Pony baseball Bat Size Help

My son is going into (pony baseball) mustang (9-10 year olds). Does anybody know what if they can use big barrel bats. I have been looking all over the internet and can not find a rule book. He currently uses a 29-17 2 1/4 barrel bat. It seems it would help with a bigger barrel. any help would be great.

In a PONY tournament around a month ago, Mustang limit was 2 3/4 barrel.

(Agree) I believe they use big barrel - and can still use the 2 3/4 size at this level. In some orgs - at the higher levels (Senior League for example), a change was recently made to limit barrel size to 2 5/8.

If kid is currently swinging a 29/17 LL bat (2 1/4) - you might want to consider a big barrel in 29/20 (29/20.5 or whatever). LS TPX Omaha XS Scandium 29/20.5 is a good bat in this size - relatively easy to find used (or NOS) in good shape for not too much $$$.
