got a 28/16 that will be mainly used as a team bat. The bat is pretty hot right out of the wrapper. We had a couple of kids that fell in love with it during BP which was a little surprising. We have a 28/18 B1 and I couldn't tell a difference between the two as far as weight goes when I held them, but the kids all said the Freak was lighter. My initial thought is that the 28/16 Freak is a little hotter out of the wrapper than our 28/18 B1 was when it was brand new. I've read that the sweet spot on the Freak may be on the small side but I didn't see it tonight. I'll give further updates as we break the bat in but it looks like it will be a keeper.

Ok after having the bat for a week and putting it through lots of work here is what I have seen. The bat does have a significantly smaller sweet spot than the Combats, but it has more pop when hit on the sweet spot than the Combats and it isn't broken in yet. There is no comparison between the two on mis-hits, though. On these the Combat is 10x the better bat. I will continue to update as it gets broken in.

Two weeks and lots of use out of the Freak and it is getting hot. I'm no longer sure that it has a small sweet spot. The ball is exploding off of the bat and this is one of the hottest bats I have ever seen. It is outperforming both our B1 and B2 and I have no problem recommending this bat to anyone.
