I'm looking for a good compsite bat, a durable bat that I can use a lot and don't have to worry about it breaking if I fist it, or hit it hard off the end. And here's the catch, I need it top have the pop of a straight Rock Hard Maple.
So, from what research I've done I've come up with several, but I haven't been able to get many opinions on them
Firstly, Baum Bat, also CTG Woody 360, Viper 360, Radial Bat, KR3 Magnum and Hickory Composites, Hoosier Bat Woodforce 2000, Brett Bros has several bats that fit this category, and I think that there are several others, but I can't remember them right now.
Anyway, I'd love to hear some opinions on these bats, as well as on other bats that fit my description that I don't have listed.
Also, warranty is an issue. The only bats that list decent warranties are CTG-1 year, Radial Bat-1 year, and Baum 6-months or a season of play, whichever comes first. All of the others have like 1-4 month warranties, but if I'm spending 150 for one bat, a 30 day warranty ain't gonna cut it.
Please let me know what you think.
Thanks
Try the Brett Brothers GOBON
It has a 120 day UNLIMITED Return~!!! If it breaks 5 times you get 5 new bats... The return rate is only 4% on these bats as well so they are extremely durable. They are made out of BAMBOO Super Core Technology and as we know bamboo is extremely hard.
The Gobon has a Fiberglass wrap on them as well which is called the BOA Wrap, this will add durability if taking a ball on the handle.
Models available include the 271 and the 100
Best of all you dont have to mail in the bat when it breaks! A simple digital Picture sent in will do and your bat is in the mail and on its way to your door.
Suggested retail is $100
I hope this helps

Just reading your topics if you don't mind? Are the Brett bats, better than the other brands, or are any bamboo equal? Bamboo compares to composite? or no?
tks
When looking for "Wood Composites" there are several considerations out there
Brett Bros Gobon - Super Bamboo
Baum ---- Composite with Ash
Demarini - Composite Maple
Combat - Composite Maple
Combat - Tri Wood (no Longer Made) Ash for reduced vibration, Maple at end for Weight, Hickory in sweet spot.
Worth - Bamboo
Mizuno - Bamboo
Lousiville - Ash Composite
1st off warranty is why most players are going to this type of bat, they are tired buying 3-6 bats every year and having them break early or often. So when considering the warranties
Brett Gobon 120 Days UNLIMITED Replacement, Customer doesn't send the bat back
Baum 6 Mo 1 Time Replacement, Customer sends the bat back
Demarini - 3 mo, 1 time replacement, customer sends bat Back
Combat Tri-Wood (not Made anymore) 6 Mo 1 time replacement, customer sends in bat
Combat Maple - 3 Mo Warranty 1 Time Replacement, Customer Sends Back
Worth Bamboo - 30 Day Warranty, Customer sends back, 1 Time Replacement
Mizuno Bamboo - 90 Day Warranty, 1 Time Replacement, Customer Sends Back
Cost -
Brett $100 Retail
Baum - $130
Demarini $130
Combat Tri Wood $160
Combat Maple $130
Worth Bamboo - $80
Mizuno Bamboo - $70
When looking at Bamboo vs the other woods, Bamboo has a tensile strength greater than Steel. It is a very durable wood and one of the fasting growing woods so its great for the environment.
When you compare the Price/Warranty/What you need to do when your bat breaks, the Brett Bros Gobon is extremely hard to beat!

I have not sampled all the bats mentioned, but I can try to provide some input for you.
Baum - Never used, but have heard good things.
DeMarini - Used once (borrowed). Not a bad bat. Popular bat, too.
Combat - Never used. I haven't seen one yet. Sorry. No help here.
Worth - Never seen one.
Mizuno - Decent bamboo, but didn't seem to have the pop that others have. Ninety day warranty, but second bat has zero.
Louisville - I have not used.
Viper bamboo - I broke mine. I wasn't greatly impressed.
Brett Bros. - I have had my Gobon #5 for 3 years. Can't seem to break it and it does have decent pop. 120 day warranty! Replacement has another 120 days! Wulf bat looks nice, but I have not used it. I have not used the Bamboo Dragon or Maple/Bamboo either.
Area 51 - I purchased a Fusion 3 last year. It seems to have nice pop. They have changed the Fusion line slightly and expect to see similiar results, if not better.
Annex bamboo - Nice bamboo with decent pop.
Verdero (CTG) - I have not used one yet, but plan on it.
D-Bat bamboo - I have not used, but players on my team use it and really like it.
Akadema Super Bat - I have not used yet, but I am interested in trying.
Radial Bat - I hope to try one this year.
KR3 - I have not used.
Hoosier - I have not used.
Rock Bat - I have not used, but interested.
Mad Dog - Recenty purchased, but I have not used, yet. The 271 seems to taper sooner than most 271's.
BamBooBats - I have not used, but a couple of players on my team use the 110. Seems okay.
M^Powered - I have not used.
I imagine there are more bamboo and composite bats available. If so, please post them so I can check them out.
