Interesting concept. Of course not permissible in MLB. I always wondered what a bat made from the center of a log, so that the growth rings encircle the whole bat, would be like. Probably not the best, but worth a try.

I have used some nice birch bats. Nothing from Birch Bat themselves, but I hear they make a nice bat. I Just spoke with Radial Bats the other day. The concept peaked my interest. I just might have to break down and get one this winter.
