If not, the hype is cost a lot of people a lot of money.

no they are not worth $405 . That is crazy for a youth bat. There are other bats that are better. A top of the line youth bat will run you from $200-250

"There are other bats that are better. A top of the line youth bat will run you from $200-250"

If there is another youth 2 1/4" bat out there better than the Zilla, 07 or 08, I'd like to know what it is.

I've said in other threads that I didn't see much difference between our 07 and 08. Keegan used the 30/21 last year as an 8 yr old. Got him the 31/22 this spring to use later in the year to keep him swinging with a heavier bat. Thing is he swung it so well I just let him use it and the 07 has stayed in the bag. Well we sent the 08 off for warranty and have had it for sale, so we've been using the 07 again and, well maybe I was wrong about the bat. He's hit some shots this year with the 08 but at our last tourney with the 07 he hit a ball barely foul that our coach said went 300'. Do I think it went that far, not really, but it was a lot closer to 300 than 200. The next at bat he hit a ball that went over a 185' 12' tall fence, over the fence on the next field and hit almost at the end of the batting cage. Another 20-25' and it would have hit the dugout roof. So maybe it is a hotter bat, hard to argue after what I saw last weekend.

$450 huh, maybe I'll have to keep the 08 and sell the 07. After all anything past 200' is just bragging material. :D

The Tech 08 and 09 are not in the same class as the 07 Tech IMHO.

That may well be true but the 08, at least ours, is still a hell of a bat and I've not seen any I'd trade it for.

I have to admit it does have more pop that his 09. Hit one tonight farther than he ever has. We bought the bat to see if it was true and at least for my son it is true. We will probably us the 09 for BP and use the 07 for games. We also have an 06 Techzilla on the way and I am told it is basically the same bat as the 07. We got it one size bigger for spring ball. We will put that theory to the test too.

Try a Combat B1....

my son hits his combat b1 further than a zilla. But each kid has different variables in their swing so for you it is the zilla, for us it is the combat. No youth bat is worth $405 and is still legal.

lol...yes $405 is crazy. We still might try the B2 when it comes out.

The B1 is great except I have seen more then one crack. The thing is they try to make it as thin as possibale.

keep hearing from parents around me that the TechZilla dents way too easily.

The Combat is the one bat we haven't seen around here. There's only one dealer in this area and we've tried to contact them numerous times with no luck. Have never seen one on the field.

And yes, our 08 dented badly but the 07 has fared better, but sill it has a couple of smaller dents.
