bat tape over or under?

I decided to tape up the handle on my stealth comp becuase the grip was ripping, should i take the original grip off and put the bat tape on the actuall handle, or should i just tape over the original grip?

I would take off the original grip and put the bat grip on

it'sa the white bat tape you can buy at a sports authority, would you still take off the original real grip, befroe you put on the bat tape and tape over the actual handle, or should i just tape over the actual grip?

i would still take off the original grip because i know many peopple that have done that.
But also if you do that it would be better to use pine tar for grip

yes because just with the white bat tape that bat won't have very good grip

im not sure but if you dont want to use pine tar you can just buy new easton bat grip that was the same as before and put that on instead

Most of the bats I see at the high school and American Legion level in west Ky. have the white athletic tape placed over the grip. That way, you are still protected from a bad burn, but get the extra friction from the tape. Just white tape is not going to provide much cushioning.

Sorry, been away. My sons have gone both ways. The oldest tapes over the grip and tapes basically a choke position on top of the knob. He is a contact hitter.

My younger son tapes a diamond pattern onto the handle. If the grip is basically flat, as it is on his Plasma, he leaves it on and retapes the diamond pattern onto the handle every season, which is 3 times a year here.
