I don't see anything about the Exogrid here, at least not on the front page. Anyone here use it? Is it considered an alloy barrel or a composite? My understanding is that it has a composite inner wall and some composite inserts in the handle. Does it "break in" like the full composite bats?

Just another stick I'm curious about and don't see much buzz.

I was told when shopping for bats that last years exo was not as popular because the barrel length was short by comparison to other bats. They have changed the bat this year to have a longer barrel. Apart from that it was supposed to be a solid bat.

Good bat. One of the better 'alloy' bats. It was the sexy bat to have a couple of years ago but you know that changes from year to year or season to season. We see a lot of them, especially at the high school level. I don't recall one denting or breaking and it seems to be balanced in a way that multiple kids will use it. If your son likes the feel, the weight and such, it is definitely one to consider.

My observations is it is a smoking hot bat out of the wrapper. See lots of them in league and tournament play here in California. We had a few kids bag their green Catalyst in favor of the Exo. Presonally I think the blue Catalyst was better than the green hence the Triton. Had two green Catalyst crackon the same team

my boys who are 9 use a 30/18. They only got to use it the last two games. Both times they did good. It has a good pop, and they seem to like it. I have ordered a new Combat B2 Da Bomb. They are pretty excited about their first full comp. bat

Good info.

FWIW, on the Catalyst, we still have a 28/15 yellow version that has held up great through two seasons of heavy use, including home run derby sessions by adults (soft toss). As far as I can tell, and as far as many of the kids are concerned, this thing is still rock solid with tons of pop. It's so popular on my team that I had to ban some of the big kids from it and force them to use the 29" and 30" bats. A couple of them looked ridiculous swinging that little thing.

I think the Exo is near the top of my list. My kid swung one in a store and really liked the feel, as he seems to with most of the TPX line.
