I am looking to get my son a senior league bat for travel ball. I can't find any size charts for this so I nedd help from people with experience. I know that they are heavier. He is 4'4" and 70 lbs. Has been swinging a 29/17 and a 30/17. Please help me decide which size bat would be best.I am considering a 28/18 or a 29/19 leaning toward the 29. He has a couple of friends that are not bigger than him swinging a30/20 and doing well. Please help me decide.
P.S. I know this is a little league forum, but I only got one result on the senior forum. Thought I would try this.

30 would to big for him to control! stay with a 29" 19oz and have him swing and swing.

Top bats you need to look at Combat virus, TPX triton or H2. After that they all become equal

4'4 70 lbs a 29-17 or 30-18 would do well. I can almost guarantee that a 19oz would be too heavy. He might be able to hit with it, but he will be more successful and have more fun with a bat that he can generate bat speed and have more success. Too heavy a bat promotes poor mechanics which lead to bad habits. I coach a travel team of 10 year olds and the heaviest bat we use is an 18 oz. We learned from experience last year with weighty bats. All averages are up in part to practice but also to better fundementals and the key to that was a bat weight that promoted a coordinated swing with the big muscles of the body versus just arms and a lagging bat. Just my .02

Mid Ohio is right .... stay with a compact bat and light.

My sons have Stealths (Alloy) and Catalyst (Comp) (29-19) they flip back and forth... we also have (30-20) and (29-21.5)... they older one has 2 years until he has to swing -3 for High School ball ... so we'll start swinging the bigger bats in practice and Fall Ball.
