Hi everyone,

I have a 7 year old finishing up his first machine pitch season. We went with a really low grade bat for this season but he ended up batting right around 500. What bat should I be looking at for fall ball and next season?

He is 4 feet tall and not super strong. I have been looking at the anderson pyrotech xp and techzilla Xp but would love some suggestions.

Thanks

D

the pyrotec 28/17 would be a good bat if he can swing a 17oz bat. the tech would be to heavy for him.

I would say a Combat B1 - DaBomb....it comes in a 29/17 and is a very nice bat with alot of pop...My son has a Virus 30/20 and its a very light feeling bat but boy it sure drives the baseball. Also the combats are very forgiving bats with a big sweet spot....I would take him to a sporting good store and let him feel a few different sizes before you order just to get a feel of what will be a good size...

In my opinion, a 29" bat is too big for him at 4' tall, unless his weight is up there some. I would be looking for a 28" 15 or 16 oz bat. Depending on how much you plan to spend, If doesnt matter, I would get a LVS Triton, if it does, go with the LVS Omaha.

Thanks

I agree but he will be more than ready for it by next spring dont you think. My thinking was this he buy a good bat now that he would grow into fairly quickly. He would use it this fall if he played fall baseball and may struggle but buy Spring he should be very good with it and he will be able to use for 3 or 4 seasons, hopefully....instead of having to buy a smaller bat and replace it again in a season or 2....how much difference is there in a 28 and 29 anyway....I also fell that the Combat is a lighter bat than most and it will also mask some of his struggling when he 1st uses it....this is just my opinion....also to the OP I dont endorse lifting weights at a young age but both my boys do push ups and crunches 3 to 4 nights a week and it greatly improves there strength at a young age....My oldest is 11 and is now starting weight lifting and is stronger than his best friend who's dad is a trainer and makes his boy work out for 2 hours everyday....My 7 year old is doing the crunches and push ups over the summer...I dont push him but i do encourage him and make it fun...you will be suprised how much strength your boy develops just through the summer........again just my opinion

You could try and find a combat throttle...those are very good for younger kids from what I have read....
