I was having lunch with a fellow dad on a baseball team we used to play on and we were talking about bats. I mentioned the Catalyst and he mentioned that Composite bats were going to be banned by the USSSA.
Anyone ever hear anything like this? I figured if composite bats have been around for almost two years or so now...why haven't they been banned yet?

I play usssa tournaments every weekend i dont have showcase ball and i haven't ever heard anyone even taking about that. I guess it's possible but why? Composite is awesome but the ball gets hit just as hard with regular aluminum as well. I love the feel of composite and also the benefit of not hearing the headache causing "ping" every hit. I hope they dont

There is the possibility but I think they have avoided it for the most part. It all has to do with how they test the bats. They banned Titanium but this time around I think they will test the bat and as long as it is at a certain batted ball speed (89-92 mph) coming out of the wrapper it will be ok. I also think the USSSA they are talking about is the softball side of it, not the baseball side.
