Couldn't help but notice that the majority of Florida State's guys, and many of the other players I saw in the regionals opted to swing the omahas over the exos. Anybody else used both out there that has an idea of why? Also, I believe there will be three Nike Schools at the CWS this year. Not such a louisville dominated sport any more I guess.

EP, I noticed the same thing with the FSU guys and I guess its just a matter of personal preference. Other teams that swing Louisville had most of their players swinging Exos with only a few swinging Omahas. Missouri, for instance, had I think all but one player using the new black Exo and the other used the new Omaha. Arizona had most of its players swinging the new TPX H2. I've used both the Omaha and Exo and without a doubt like the Exo better, but its just a matter of personal preference.

Just remember, with Nike it is usually a uniform, shoe, bat package. The other schools piece their packages together. Nike is pretty aggressive and really locks them in when they do a sponsorship.
I also know from a couple of guys that crashed with us last fall that they used Demarini's painted to look like Nike. One also painted a Dynasty to look like a Nike.
Guess who is behind the University of Oregon's return to D1 baseball? The same company that dresses the other teams at the school in garish (fancy word for ugly) uniforms and now has a complete baseball bat line.
Don't be surprised when more schools go with Nike. It is easier and there are more benefits. It is not about the bat, it is a business deal, pure and simple.
My understanding is it is a rules violation to misrepresent the brand of a bat by painting it; it is possibly okay if the original weight/length and BESR info is not covered. I have read where the drop and BESR info has to be powder coated and baked onto the bat, not painted on. I would think anything like painting a bat would obviously show up and be questioned in the pregame bat inspection.

Didn't say I agreed with it or anything. Just what the guys said.
I know they are plenty tough around here. They make us take off decals that don't come from the manufacturer - uniform numbers, etc.
Last week we were in a major post-high school tournament with some of the guys and they told us to have the guys check for cracks in the helmets and bats, it is for their safety. You should have seen the bats coming out of the bags, bats that are always thrown out. I am now a big believer in them checking everything!
