the Anderson Pyrotech XP 28/17 - my reasoning it has similar technology as the Techzilla, which is so well respected. I would have went with the Tech but it is too big at this point. I will keep the board posted and anyone with experience please respond.

I tried to find a Throttle but they don't exist. I called customer service and they said maybe sometime in July. I understand it is later in the year, but how can you not have a product people are wanting? Not sure about their business model since companies survive on sales/profit. Ramp up production or people will go elsewhere.

That good of bats! it's not something you can really mass produce like metal bats. Combats are so popular right now it's hard they need to keep the high end bats available.

I am sure it is difficult but you simply have to find a way to get it accomplished. I can see maybe a week backorder, but they couldn't provide a time except sometime in July. I have no clue their manufacturing situation but is it time to expand? I haven't seen any Combats in my little part of Indy, so too bad I can't show one to other dads with some money to spend. Life goes on good luck to everyones kids this summer.

Their business model is that the B1 and Virus are such hot selling items, why would they ramp down production on those to manufacture a less expensive, fewer selling item.

They can't keep the Virus / B1 in stock and everyone is backordered on those.

B1 / Virus markets to 9 - 13 year olds.
Throttle markets to 7 - 8 year olds.

There's a much larger market for those bats than the Throttle.

But I do feel your pain.

I remember the days of Coach Pitch and how hard it is to find a quality bat in stock in your size.

Have you thought about buying a B1 (-12), and using a choke up knob to get down to his length. Not the ideal situation, but it would also allow him to "grow" with the bat and utilize it longer.

ps - try "Daytona Sports" <sales@daytonasportsstore.com> he's a Combat Distributor selling on ebay with a good rep and will deal.

most of my 9 year old team swings a anderson pyrotech 29/18. great bat and ball comes off hard. some of the kids are starting to swing the techzilla 29/20. tech does have alot more pop if the kid can swing the heavier bat.

My son is 7 and loves his B1. Has beens swinging it since last summer and fully broken in. He plays machine pitch and has had numerous in the park HRs and got on base over 90% of the time all the way through All-Stars. The new version of the B1, the B2 is making its debut in August. Saw it on pre order on Cheapbats.com but was not able to order. B2 supposed to be hotter than B1 and Virus. On another note, I ordered a Worth's new mayhem 29", -12 full composite for $199 from Justbats. I have a softball version of the mayhem and it is hot. We'll see what the LL mayhem brings..:)
