Exo Grid - 12

Hi -

Still trying to figure out what bat to buy for my soon to be 11 year old son (5ft tall / 90 lbs). He's used a Easton Stealth -13 (29" / 16 oz) for the past 2 seasons. He hits for contact, not a power hitter, with a good eye. I was thinking about the Exo Grid -12 (30"/18 oz) as a possibility. I know this is supposed to be a "stiff" bat compared to his current Stealth.
Does anyone have an input on that bat and/or a recommendation? Do you think the extra weight of the Exo Grid will be a problem? How will the stiffer bat affect his swing? Slow it down?

He tried one of his teammate's 07 Vexuum (30"/17oz) the other night at indoor practice and said that unless he hit the sweet spot, he didn't hit well and noticed a lot of stinging.

I don't have an opinion on the EXogrid yet, cause I only know one kid who uses it. Have you considered the Voodoo-12? Slightly end-loaded, but it's a -12 so the end-loaded feel isn't so bad. The Voodoo is also the softest Demarini bat. In other words, has the least amount of sting of the Demarini line.
