I am a 140 5'6 contac hitter age 15. Buying a new bat-- Which one is more balanced-Plasma Gold or the Combat Virus-I had the plasma 2 years ago but I don't know much about the Virus.

plasmas break very easily, but they do follow throght with there warrenty. i had a 07plasma and i had to get it replaced 3 times. i'd deffinatly go with the virus. but the CF3 is a very good balanced bat 2, thats wat i'm using right now and i love it!

I agree with baseballOC 100%. Plasmas have about no durability, but are good while they last. Also like he says, they do indeed follow up on waranty. I have gone through 2 and its not even half way through the season. Im changing brands now. I have a post going (hint hint any help? hint hint)

the plasma gold is better balanced, although not by much. at the beggining of this season i bought them both, and then returned the combat because it felt slightly better balanced. it took a couple of minutes of swinging them to really tell the difference. i also owned the liquid metal 2, and absolutely loved it. i thought i would stay with a similar bat because of it. im not a power hitter, but i hit very well oppo, and i need something that i feel that i can swing quickly, so i went with the plasma.

Get the one that feels best to you. If you liked the Rawlings but had issues with denting, I would suggest the Rush Lite, which is balanced more like the Plasma Gold but it is a composite and should last better. If you like how wide the barrel is from the grip to the end cap, look at the TPX Catalyst. Same big sweet spot, better reputation for quality.

Composites offer a little better quality control than the pressing of alloy bats which can expose weaknesses in the blank used to make the bat.

Good luck finding the bat that lets you just hit the ball as good as you can.
