You are probably not going to find a good bat for under 50 dollars. If you want a bat that lasts buy a bamboo or maple bat. The cheapest you'll be able to find will probably be between 60 to 70 dollars. Almost every bat company sells wood bats. I use a bamboo bat from brettstealth.com i think. they make wooden bats that are harder to break. I hope this info will help you out.

Maybe if you spend a little more than 50$ you could get a Don Mattingly V-grip. It's a good one.

DW#1 fan,
Take a look at my site, www.nystixs.com. I am located in NY and I sell professional quality wood bats.. My most expensive bat is $55, 30 - 34 inch full size bats.. I am running a 2 for $95 for maple right now... For those wondering why so cheap... I am not MLB approved, so I don't have overhead costs, which get placed on consumer..
I can guarantee you that the bats I sell are the major league quality..

If you absolutely want to pay under 50$, Easton wood bat might be considered. But for a bit higher, you can get a good quality bat. Don Mattingly's V-Grip is a good choice. You also should consider a bamboo. They are not expensive because they're not very popular. I have one and I'm totally satisified. The big plus with bamboo bats it's their structure. You can hit the ball anywhere on the barrel. There is no specific grain orientation. In ohter hand, I have a sambat made from maple. Awesome hardness. They have tremendous pop for wood bats but they are far more expensive. Both are extremely durable.
