I just got this thing in the mail for the all american talent showcase it says you travel the united states and get scouted by coaches and if your good enough you can get full baseball scholarships, and maybe even drafted by the pros if your good enough. Has anyone ever gone to one of these or even rechieved something like this in the mail ?
Thanks

Yeah, if that is really true, i would really go, I mean hell, you talking a scholarship to some great school, possibly the Next CWS Champions. Go for it, I know if I got one that I would say yes in a heartbeat. But I am only a Freshman so it probably wouldn't happen to me in my lifetime!

Im going to be a sophmore this coming school year so maybe youll get one next year, you never know. The more teams and camps you play in the more likely youll get scouted for this program.

;) Did you play for a competitive team this year, or did you just play high school? Is your high school good? What competitive team did you play for before high school? Did you play in the Elite 24 USSSA championship? :)

I played competitive baseball during the fall and winter, then played for my high school team, the during the summer went back to my other team. My high school teams not bad, but i was good enough to play varsity baseball my freshman year. I played for a team called the North Pennslyvania All-Stars, i dont know if youve heard of them, if your not from PA of NJ you probly didnt.

If you make the cut you can travel the country and go to 2 colleges your interested in playing baseball for, and the colleges coaching staff will come and take a look at you, and look over you stats and reviews and talk to you about a scholarship if there interested in you.

hey varsity, who do think you will play college for? :) Which college do you want to go to and do you think you'll get in. Do you think you're talented enough to one day play major league ball? That would be awesome. I think I can, but there are so many people that are bigger and stronger and faster. It is so friggin hard to go pro. :(

If you give me a month after this AABS is done i can tell you exactly who im playing for. Id probably want to go to arizona state or clemson for baseball, but id go to another college if they offered me a baseball scholarship. haha yeah i think id be talented enough to play one day, or at least double A or triple A ball, but i have a lot of work to do.

Hey Varsity01... have you heard of the Pittsburgh North Stars? I played them in like my 12 year old season. But yeah I hope to make JV or Varsity This year, there are only 3 people in my freshman age group that have talent, me included, And I don't really want to play with the bad kids so I will work to earn a spot on the Jv or Varsity. i am playing in a fall league with ages 14 - 18 years olds, I am the youngest of any one in the league ( the rest are 16 and up ) and after 2 games I am 3-5 with RBI's. So I am doing pretty descient, but do you suggest going to camps for me in Kent State? I went to some of them earlier last year, but since I live in ohio There aren't many camps that I know of... So if you know of any camps within 5 hours away from Columbus Ohio, let me know... I mean hell, we could possibly meet up somewhere!

Yeah, i think we played the north stars this year,or last year they sound familiar but i dont remember. I'd suggest going to any college camp with a good baseball team. I went to one in Miami and practiced with the hurricanes and other selected players for a week, it was great but since you dont live anywhere near there ill have to see. i dont know how good kent state is, id imagine there middle of the road because i dont remember them being in any CWS brackets. How old are you, 14 or 15, and what position do you play.

I am 14 right now I turn 15 in November. But how do you get all of this information about teams? I would like to go to ASU or Miami for college, but I want to know how you get everyhing? If you would like I could give you my email adress and is it possible that you could give me some info later down the road? You live in Pennsylvania right? I play every postion, but I like infield the most!

I'm going to Rice. The thing for me is that I also have a 4.8 GPA, so I want to go to a school with really good academics AND an awesome baseball team. Rice is perfect. I played JV last year and hit like 450-500. I did pretty good and got JV MVP because the rest of the team sucked (I led the team in RBI's as the leadoff hitter, how stupid is that). I want to make varsity this year. I'm hoping to get a full scholarship to Rice. Maybe I'll see you guys in the college world series. I wonder what kinda bats will be out by then.

Rice is a awesome school, great baseball team it seems like every year there in the CWS,the only problem is if you dont get a baseball scholarship its harder to make the team because of the spots that are taken before you tryout, which i think is stupid but what ever. Yeah that doesnt make sense at all...leadoff man with the most RBI's. I broke our school record for highest batting average with a 684 something like that, its not great but ill take it. But its good for you if your team sucks because whne scouts come your more noticed.

 684 on varsity is awesome for your freshman year. I'm looking to bat at least 750 senior year but that would be hard because at a certain point you just happen to hit the ball at someone... unless you are ichiro. :( I think I can do it though. That would probably get Rice's attention, but I would have to steal a lot of bases and be a fick'n stud at second base. I need to get faster and stronger. School is gay it takes up too much of my time that I could be working out and training for baseball.

Yeah i was hopeing it would be better because i worked with a hitting coach all year, and he was really good he worked with a public leaue team called the Frankford Pioneers and they won the public league title 3 years in a row. He really helped me work on my swing mechanics. The problem is when your a freshman on your varsity team, when scouts come there not really interested in you, there paying attention to someone else, like a senior or junior, so i could do bad this year and next and it would suck, which is why im happy i get to go to this AABS to have scouts check me out while im really good.
You play second base? Thats cool so do i. Work on your speed so you can cover the hole, because varsity is a whoole differant level, balls are hit 10 times harder and faster. Because if your a freshman and you start an infield your going to get balls hit at your from seniors that are huge, and if you miss the ball, the coach isnt going to care that your so young.

DAMN, that's pretty big for a freshman! I'm like 5' 2" 100lb. Guess what though. There was this kid in the Little League World Series who was 6' 8" 235lb.! and get this, he is 13! He wears a shoe size frick'n 19!!!!!!!! That is frick'n INSANE! The kids in LLWS actually aren't all that good. There good, but there not like Amazing.

We have a basketball player at our school hes 6'10. But yeah im pretty big for a freshman. Yeah i heard of him ! The kid from Saudi Arabia, hes huge. I totally agree with that, there not that good. I knew kids that threw that hard and hit 225 when they were 13, and some 12 year olds. And they moved the fence back it was 205, thats very short.
