What do you recommend for a big barrel for a 9 yo. We are looking at the plasma, cxn-'07, stealth composite - '07, or stealth bst32 (black with green letters). Does the 2 5/8 barrel differ that much from the 2 3/4?

i believe that you lose so much when going to a big barrel. The best techology going is the dual wall design which only exists in LL bats. You really don't increase the hitting surface enough, in my opinion, to justify using a big barrel because everyone else does. I'll pit the Techzilla XP up against any big barrel on the market for distance. That being said, once you get into the -5 range, the weight will naturally drive the ball. In the -8 to -11 range, there is none higher then the F2 and Techzilla XP. Swing those bats as long as you possibly can!

At nine years old I would have to recommend the Anderson Techzilla XP over any big barrel bat. The double walls are going to out perform the single wall any day at this age until they are 12-13 yrs old.
