I have a 9 yo (soon to be 10) that plays select baseball here in TX. I am looking for a new bat for him to use. He has been using a 2007 Catalyst (30/20) that belongs to a friend on the team. We are looking for a bat with good pop and distance. His swing and mechanics are so-so leaning towards the better side of things. Almost everyone uses the big barrel bats, but have heard good things about the Techzilla. The Virus comes in a 2 5/8 barrel-not much difference in the 2 3/4 he has been using. He tried the EXO and did not like the way it felt in his hands. Any ideas or help?

I've been hearing great things about the TechZilla and the Virus. The Tech comes in a -9 and the virus -12 and -10. I personally held the TechZilla and it was suprisingly more even balanced than end-loaded like I keep hearing it is. If your son's swing is so-so he might benefit from the Tech or the Virus -12. That's my $.02 anyways.
