Bat sounds weird

My son is 12 and he has a -10 steath flex. Had a game this weekend and he hit three inside pitches and it sounded (thud). The ball did not bounce off the bat. Now he plays in a 14 division and the pitches were fast. I told him to to change bats for the fourth time at the plate and he used someone's Plasma -8.5 ( i think) and when he made contact with the ball that ball bounced quick off the bat, and the pitch was inside as well. I beleive it is a dead bat or read somewhere else that These stealths sometimes go bad at the connection. (handle) Thinking about another bat for him but not sure if bat is dead, will take out tonight (practice) and try it. Any Problems experienced with Stealth?

Yep, from day one I never liked the pop (or lack of). The ball just doesn't jump off that particular bat. My son had a Stealth CNT silver/blue 28/18. I tried it out myself hitting some grounders to his team and it always sounded like something's loose inside and there was no pop.
