Reading your reply's I was curious to know if you've tried the 08 Anderson and the Combat B1. my son has the 06 XP in a 29" the 08 XP in a 30" and I'm considering getting the -10 Combat in a 29" for him to try. Have you compared the 2? How would rate the distance of the models?

Thanks

I do have the 08 XP and I have the COMbat 30"-10 in both youth and senior league bats, the youth is the B1 DaBomb and the senior league is the Virus. The XP is more endloaded than both combats. The sweet spot is larger on the combats by far! I truly believe you will get more distance with the XP but the combats are easier to control through the strike zone!

What I notice with the video camera after I play it back in slow motion is that the XP will power through the ball while you can notice some rebound with the combat when there is solid contact made. This powering through the ball with the XP is why you are going to get more distance with it! Both are very nice bats!

By the way, I have 3 COMbat B1 DaBomb in the wrapper all 30" -10 for sale for $180.00 shipped to your door via paypal.

We have an 2008 Techzilla XP 29/20, actually had a few with end cap issues, but Anderson warranty dept. rocks. Anyway, in a effort to "have the best", imho, I also purchase a Combat Virus, 29/19, just received it today. Now in talking directly to Combat, they claim out of the box the Virus won't have as much pop as their B1dabomb but will surpass it by far after about 50 hits give or take, or so they say.

Well I can tell you after one soft toss sesson of about 50 balls total not evenly split between a week old Techzilla with maybe 100 hits total on it to date, and the newly arrived Combat Virus, the balls were flying dead even in distance.

Tomorrow's test will include regular coach pitch session with both bats. I must say, these 2 bats seem to be a mirror image of each other, one aluminum slightly end-loaded, one composite.

This is going to be FUN!

Kevin now that you've had the Combat a few weeks. How does your son like it and how do the two bats compare now after break in? Thanks

Sorry slow to respond, been busy. Well now that the combat virus is broke in I can say there is very little difference in the two bats as far as distance given a good sweet spot hit. When you compare the two bats up and down the main barrel portion, I'd give the advantage to the techzilla. Both are excellent bats!

The most underrated bat out on the market that I have is the miken coach pitch series, in the 27 and 28 inch. I bought one each of those for 'team bats', because most of the 7-8 yr. olds can't swing the techzilla nor is it a team bat. Those two bats w/ their 2 3/4 size will just plain hit the ball a great distance. If Miken made that bat in a 29 or 30 model, well, I'd buy it.

Best wishes.

I just received the Combat Virus 29/21 and it is a killer bat. It looks great and the grip is really nioe. We also have the 29/20 Techzilla and love that bat as well. I'll be honest, we hit with both of them and they were equal in distance. The selling point with the virus is that the barrel is bigger and he has a better chance at success hitting the ball. The Txz will be great (is great) for leagues that don't allow the bigger barrel.

Love both of them!
