Can anyone suggest a good softball bat for 10 y.o. girl. She is not a powerful hitter, but she is a consistatant hitter.

My 10 yr old has an Easton Stealth 31" -10. (It is the green one) She loves it and hits for power and line drives without any fatigue. She has played 60 plus games with it and it has held up very well. Now not as expensive as I paid ($300) because of the newer models, so you can get it for $180 or less.
My daughter loves playing with it and will use it for at least another season.

My daughter will be 10 soon, is 4'10", 83lbs, and her two bats are a Miken MV3 light 30/18 and a Combat Lisa Fernandez 30/18. Both of these bats are great and I like the -12 for good bat control. Both bats also have a lot of pop.
I coach baseball, and am not as familiar with softball, but when watching my daughter I see so many girls swinging bats that are way to heavy for them (common basball problem too). Unless you have a girl that is exceptionally strong, I would stay in the -12 range.

If you want top of the line performance, check the Demarini CF4 out. It retails at $300 but something a little bit cheaper since she's young would be the Easton Synge or the Worth Eclipse.

I forgot to mention why the Synge and Eclipse are good, the synge is a -11.5 and the eclipse is a -11. Which is good for a younger to have a bigger drop. She might also like how the eclipse bat changes color during temperature change.

I can not suggest any brand name of the bat but I will give you tips of what kind of bat you are going to buy for your daughter..IT must not be heavy and try if your daughter will be comfortable using it :)

If you want to spend the money, the Demarini CF4, Easton Stealth, or Mizuno Frenzy are good choices. At that age, I would probably hold off on the really expensive bats until she's done growing. Some good low priced alternatives are the Mizuno Finch, Easton Typhoon, or, if you want composite, the TPS Mendoza. Check out justbats.com as they are blowing out some 2010 models right now. They have a full composite Combat Fernandez (http://www.justbats.com/product.view.aspx?p=10068) for $50 shipped!
