The aluminum and composite baseball bat industry is extremely competitive as companies fight to sell baseball and softball bats for prices that can reach $400.  Each year the bat companies need to convince players that they have significantly improved the bats from the previous year, and this leads to some amazing and amusing claims about technological advances.
